Golden Hour & Her Best Friend | Sunset Portrait Session in Roosevelt, Utah
Kailani wanted a portrait session that would capture her friendship with Titan, her pup, beautifully. Titan is no ordinary dog. He was a free Border Collie puppy that stole our hearts. As he grew his friendship and connection with her, also grew. I am unsure exactly when, but at some point, he realized she needed a little extra help. He hasn’t been trained as a therapy or service dog. He has his own quirks in his obedience occasionally, but when it comes to being by Kailanis’ side when she needs him most, he is there.
Kailani developed symptoms of Tourette’s Syndrome not long after our move to the Uintah Basin here in Utah. Along with her older sister, they both have struggled for their high school years with this disability. Oftentimes, creating intense or awkward moments, their tics would show up at inopportune times. When at home, Titan figured out how he could help. Kailani has spent many hours on the floor having tic attacks, and Titan would come up as close as he could next to her and not leave her side, resting his head on her chest or leg with the perfect amount of added weight to help calm her. Their bond grew and although he is a family dog, he is HER dog. A dog best friend portrait session has been long overdue. Just before her summer adventures was the perfect time to capture them beautifully together.
The location for this shoot was simple. We wanted a location that would be open and show the sunset perfectly. Right in the town of Roosevelt, Utah we found the perfect spot! No need to drive far for a beautiful nature sunset Portrait Session. Her gallery turned out amazing! I’ve chosen to share only a few here, and it was a challenge to decide which ones!
